The Art of Writing

Some stories don’t just entertain you — they stay with you.

They follow you through different seasons of life. They change meaning as you change. And eventually, if you’re lucky, they become the stories you feel called to write yourself.

Hi, I’m Jessica — a mom, nurse, military veteran, and now, finally allowing myself to become the writer I think I’ve always been underneath it all.

I started writing not only because I love storytelling, but because writing became an outlet for me. A way to create something meaningful from pieces of my own life, emotions, experiences, fears, growth, and dreams; and weave them into characters that feel real enough to stay with people long after the final page.

To me, storytelling is an art form, a love language, one I’ve carried with me since I was little. I’ve always been drawn to stories with emotional depth. The kind that leaves an ache in your chest. The kind where characters feel human, flawed, and layered. Stories about love, timing, healing, identity, sacrifice, and becoming.

Those are the stories I want to tell.

And while the worlds and characters I create may be fictional, there will always be pieces of me hidden inside them.

This blog is not just a place to share my books someday; it’s a place to share the journey getting there.

I want to take readers with me through all of it: the brainstorming, the outlining, the messy middle drafts, the editing process, the self-doubt, the growth, and the excitement of discovering myself through the stories I’m writing.

Right now, I’m finalizing details, building courage, and preparing to take the next steps toward querying agents and possibly even traditional publishing. But regardless of where this journey leads, whether that becomes publishing with a house or choosing to self-publish independently.

I know one thing for certain: I will continue telling stories.

Because somewhere along the way, writing stopped feeling like just a hobby and started feeling like a piece of who I am.

And if you love character-driven stories, layered relationships, second chances, emotional depth, and a little bit of magic woven into it all… I think you’ll feel at home here.

I’m really glad you’re here.
